This guide will explain you how to install Mumara Campaigns (self-hosted) on your server.
This method will install the Mumara Campaigns along with the OS dependencies automatically. Make sure you meet the following dependencies before proceeding with the auto-installer.
Make sure you meet the following dependencies before starting with the commanline installaer.
Login to your operating system as a root user and run the command below. It will install Mumara Campaigns alongwith all dependencies e.g. Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc.
cd /home && curl -o installer -L https://dl.mumara.com/campaigns/installer && sh installer
We suggest running this command within the Linux screen to avoid losing operation upon connection break. If your server doesn’t have a screen installed, you can install it using the command yum install screen -y
.
SELinux Check: It will check to disable SELINUX if found enabled and reboot the server. After reboot, you’ll need to run the command again.
During the process, it will ask you certain questions to understand the basic things and install the correct license on the correct domain/subdomain.
Note: If any error occurs during the installation, we suggest you opening a support ticket under your cliet area.
Following the steps below to install Mumara Campaigns using the built-in installation wizard. Once your server meets the basic requirement, you can proceed with the installation process.

To install Mumara Campaigns, follow these steps once you have resolved all dependencies:
It is not recommended to install Mumara in a sub-directory due to dependencies issues. Ensure that the .htaccess file is included in the upload, as some FTP clients may skip hidden files like .htaccess during the transfer.
Follow the wizard steps to complete the installation.
Upon successful verification, you’ll see a Continue button.
Mumara requires your FTP details to set permissions automatically and perform future updates without any hassle. If you skip this step during installation, you may be asked for your FTP details at the time of updating the product. Providing your FTP details will allow Mumara to set permissions and update the product seamlessly, without requiring any manual intervention from you.
Note: In most of the cases, the NONE method works very well. We suggest trying with None method at first.
Warning: Avoid giving root details for the FTP/SFTP method as it will set the owner user to root.
Before proceeding with the installation, Mumara will carry out some tests on your server configuration to ensure that you can install and run the software. This is an important step to ensure that the product will function correctly and avoid any potential issues that may arise from incompatible configurations. After the tests are complete, you will be presented with the results, and it’s important to carefully review them before proceeding with the installation. If any of the required tests fail, you must address the issues before continuing with the installation to ensure a successful setup of Mumara.
If you have completed all the required dependencies for Mumara installation as outlined in the System Requirements, you should see that all the tests have passed in the “Dependency Check Results” page. This means that your server configuration is compatible with the software and that you can proceed with the installation process without any issues.
Green Tick: Dependency test has passed.
Orange Cross: Mumara was unable to performthe test, but you can continue.
Red Cross: The dependency test has failed, and you need to fix the issue.
If any of the permission tests have failed during the installation process, you can try pressing the “Fix Permissions” button first to automatically fix the permission issues. If the button does not resolve the problem, you will need to set the permissions manually to ensure that the software can function correctly. It’s important to resolve any permission issues before proceeding with the installation to ensure that the product will function correctly and without any issues. Be sure to carefully review the results of the permission tests and follow the instructions to resolve any issues that are identified.
Note: The “Fix Permissions” button will only try to fix the file/folder permissions-related issues, and it will not fix any other dependency, e.g., installing PHP extensions, etc. For the “None” method, it requires PHP exec, shell_exec to be enabled.
You need to specify your database settings in this field. Please note that the database for our software must be created before you can proceed with this step. If you have not yet created a database, you should do so before proceeding. Once you have created your database, enter the necessary details as mentioned.
You can now set up an administrator account for yourself in this field. This account will allow you to manage the software and its settings. To set up your administrator account, enter your desired email address, and password in the appropriate fields. You will also need to give a title to your application.
Branding: If you have the white-labeling addon, you can also replace it with your own logo.
On this page, you can monitor the real-time progress of the Mumara Campaigns installation process. Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to add a cronjob and delete the /install folder. If the installation is successful, you will receive a message congratulating you on the successful installation of Mumara Campaigns. At this point, you can log in to your new account and begin using Mumara.
